Presented by LUMI's young programmers, Made in Bangladesh is a quietly powerful portrait of garment workers coming together to unionise.
Fleeing her Bangladesh village to avoid an arranged marriage, Shimu (Rikita Nandini Shimu) finds work in a clothing factory in the country's capital, Dhaka.
Faced with difficult working conditions, which lead to the death of a colleague, Shimu decides to start a union with her co-workers and becomes the leader of a movement intent on regaining their rights. Despite threats from the management and the disapproval of her husband, Shimu is determined to go on and act as an agent for change.
