In a collaboration inspired by the remarkable sound design in The Outrun, Reclaim the Frame invites you to a special listening session with sound artist Mathilde Meireles at SARC Sonic Lab following the screening at QFT at 12.15pm on Sun 29 Sep.
Sound artist Matilde Meireles will bring her DRIFT Listening Session to the Sonic Lab (QUB) and take you on a journey along the River Lagan, between the Stranmillis Weir and the Waterfront Hall. She will play and manipulate the field recordings she collected of the sounds of various sections of the River Lagan and its surroundings. From underwater life to atmospheric phenomena, electromagnetic interference and the many vibrating metal surfaces that fence the river.
DRIFT is a project commissioned by Belfast 2024. A collaboration between OGU, MMAS and sound artist Matilde Meireles. DRIFT hosted a series of listening sessions and related events during August and September 2024.
Reclaim The Frame is an organisation dedicated to bringing ever greater audiences to films by people from marginalised genders to offer a wider perspective of the world. This project seeks to empower audiences to make a positive intervention in the distribution and exhibition space, to prove that these filmmakers are commercially viable and in demand.
Our Reclaim The Frame events create a space to discuss what's under the surface of each story. If you want to be an Advocate for the work we do, join our mailing list.
