Adapted from the award-winning 2008 novel by David Park, The Truth Commissioner is a powerful political thriller, set in a post-Troubles Northern Ireland.
It follows the fictional story of a career diplomat (Roger Allam), who has just been appointed as Truth Commissioner to Northern Ireland. Certain bloody and inconvenient truths are soon uncovered - truths which none of those in power are prepared to have revealed.
This screening will be followed by a Q&A with writer David Park, and Nick Laird (writer and Chair of Creative Writing at the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s).
