Family Pictures is our monthly family film club, held on the first Sunday of every month, bringing families together for a relaxed, welcoming cinema experience. This month Celtic mythology, magic and fantasy come together in this enchanting animation.
At its heart is The Book of Kells, an illuminated manuscript created more than a millennium ago in a remote Irish abbey. With the Viking hordes approaching, the monks of Kells are forced to turn their attention from transcribing manuscripts to building barricades. The future of the precious book is in jeopardy, and it falls to young Brendan, a twelve-year-old novice monk, to face his deepest fears and save the day.
Filled with vivid scenes of action and adventure, delicate dream-like sequences, and tonnes of creativity, this hand-drawn production will captivate and inspire young and old alike.
Tunes Translated will be running a music workshop after the film as we celebrate Fleadh in Belfast. Booking for the workshop will open in July.
