weareqftlauracraig(1).jpgYou are stuck at home and your favourite cinema is closed. What five films do you watch?

Goodfellas (1990) I don’t even need to explain why, it’s the perfect film, cast and soundtrack and I think I’ve watched it so many times I could recite it word for word.

Fight Club (1999) because I still notice something new every single time I watch it and it made me an angsty Chuck Palahniuk nerd as a teen and I’ve a lot of time on my hands to re-read some of his books now.

Zodiac (2007) because it is long and I love anything with Jake Gyllenhaal, David Fincher and especially anything true crime related.

High Fidelity (2000) because I really miss being in a record shop and arguing about what a band’s best album is with my friends and the people who work there.

Scream (1996) it is the perfect 90s slasher; I love how they make fun of the genre while making one of the most enjoyable films.

What three words would you use to describe QFT?

Cosy, underrated and cool

What is your earliest cinema-going memory?

I vividly remember seeing Finding Nemo (2003) in the cinema and being amazed by the animation.

What film do you dislike that everyone else loves?

I can already feel the judgement here but I can’t stand the Harry Potter franchise.

What is your guilty pleasure film?

Dumb and Dumber (1994) is my all-time favourite comedy that I could watch forever.

What is your favourite film soundtrack?

Tarantino is the master of soundtracks so I’ll go for Kill Bill (2003-2004) but I could list them all. The soundtrack for Drive (2011) by Cliff Martinez also deserves a shoutout as the best instrumental soundtrack and he was in the Red Hot Chili Peppers which makes me love it more.

What is the best thing about going to the cinema?

Planning and meeting up to see a brand new film is so much more exciting that sitting at home and watching. Sharing the film for the first time with other people and discussing it afterwards is great and I always feel more focused in the cinema and I love the build up to seeing a new release in the cinema and maybe a class wee exclusive poster on the way out.

Who is your favourite film villain?

Amy Dunne in Gone Girl (2014).

Have you ever changed your opinion on a film? What one?

I didn’t like Lady Bird (2017) on my first viewing and turned it off halfway through, I liked everyone involved in it, but something was off about it. I have watched it a few times since and I enjoyed it more.

What is your favourite movie quote?

“Life…uh… finds a way”- Jurassic Park (1993).

What film would you love to see at QFT when it reopens? (can be upcoming or a classic)

I cannot wait for Wes Anderson’s new film The French Dispatch (2020) and I will definitely be seeing it in the QFT. I love the worlds he creates; they look beautiful, they sound incredible and you know you are going to see something unique.
