Screening in glorious 4K, Gilda is a sumptuous film noir that stamped Rita Hayworth's name forever in film stardom. Are you decent?

Gilda (Hayworth) is introduced to Glenn Ford’s casino manager Johnny Farrell by her new husband, casino owner Ballin Mundson (George Macready). Unbeknownst to Mundson, the two already know each other as former lovers. With shady goings on at the casino, many of them way beyond Farrell’s paygrade, events start to come to a head.

Directed by Charles Vidor (A Farewell to Arms), Gilda remains supremely watchable, with Rita Hayworth igniting the screen with a performance that ensures it remains an iconic classic. Few entrances in movie history are as memorable.

"Examples of film noir don’t come much headier or more perverse than Charles Vidor’s sultry little number." - Tim Robey, The Telegraph
