Films with themes around disability

Born That Way

Showing from Friday 12 December.

This film is a documentary about Patrick Lydon, a pioneer in Ireland's Camphill Movement. Leaving behind a promising career rock journalism in America he arrived in Ireland in 1972 and discovered by chance a vocation in the Camphill Movement. Together with his wife Gladys, they established life-sharing communities for children and adults with diverse needs, abilities, and backgrounds, including both disabled and non-disabled people in these communities. The film asks searching questions about how truly inclusive we want our world to be. It shines a special light on the otherness of others in our society.
